FEATURED RESEARCH

Why don’t health and safety professionals become CEOs?
MBA RESEARCH | WARWICK BUSINESS SCHOOL | 2024
Health and safety professionals routinely engage with leadership, risk, culture and organisational performance. Yet relatively few progress into chief executive positions.
This research explores the factors that may limit that progression, the capabilities associated with wider executive influence, and what the profession can learn from those who have moved beyond traditional safety roles.

I welcome conversations with organisations, researchers and practitioners interested in participating in future research, sharing experience or exploring opportunities for collaboration.
Current research
I am developing a comparative research project exploring how public sector organisations translate strategy, leadership, governance, data and assurance into better safety outcomes.
The project will draw on organisational evidence, surveys and interviews to identify practical lessons that can be shared across sectors.
